Summer
in the UK can mean long hot days with intense sunlight
and to maintain an acceptable level of comfort in
your home there are number of measures you can take.
Purchasing ceiling or standalone fans or creating
a through-draft by opening doors and windows are
two things that you can do to remedy high room temperatures
and these work by stirring the hot and still air
in your living areas. There are, however, ways of
preventing the increase in temperature to an uncomfortable
level in the first place.
Much of the heat and light entering your home comes
in through the windows and controlling these factors
can go a long way to maintaining a tolerable environment
during the summer months. It is possible to close
your curtains against the elements and completely
forget that it is a beautiful summer’s day
outside but most people would prefer not to shut
out the daylight totally and seek other alternatives.
