What windows are vertical blinds
most suited for?
Vertical blinds are usually more suited to covering larger
windows, patio and sliding glass doors than horizontal blinds
because they open from side to side. This therefore allows
easier access to the sliding door or for opening a large
window.
Verticals blinds also work well when there is little room
at the sides of the window. The slats of verticals blinds
draw back to compress tightly when opened, so they take
up much less space than curtains. Depending on what design
you have chosen, pulling the cord compresses the slats together
either to one side or separates them in the middle and stacks
them on each end.
The Joys of Vertical Blinds
Vertical blinds are very practical whether used in the
home, factory or office. They tend to attract less dirt
than horizontal blinds, are easy to clean as if necessary,
the individual slats can be taken down to clean or to replace
if damaged for any reason. Vertical blinds are less likely
to be damaged in caught in a wind than horizontal blinds
and are easy to use and the mechanics are less likely to
break down. Vertical blinds also offer insulation qualities
when drawn thus helping to keep the room warm. Conversely,
when it is hot they can help to keep the room call when
shut. The slats overlap closely and when shut they create
an insulating pocket between the window and the room.
Bright sun fades furniture and therefore the vertical blinds
can be angled to keep out the sun thus protecting the furniture
and to help keep the room cooler and can help to discourage
flies and other insects from entering the house.
You can buy vertical blinds to match any décor or
decorating style and because they can be made to measure
but still be reasonable cost wise. As they can be made to
measure they are suitable for most window shapes unlike
horizontal blinds.
