Venetian
blinds are made up of a number of angled horizontal
slats. They are made of more rigid and durable materials
to allow the slats to maintain their shape and avoid damage
e.g. aluminium slats. Although they are available in a wide
range of colours, the horizontal nature of their slats means
that dust tends to settle on the top of them and they require
regular dusting. Damaged or marked slats can be awkward
to replace.
Roller
blinds comprise a large sheet of coloured or patterned
fabric / material which can be lowered or raised using a
roller mechanism. Although there is wide amount of choice
in terms of colours and patterns, when they are pulled down
there is always going to be an area of the window / outside
world which is obscured form view. For this reason they
may not be a great choice for e.g. the living room.
Vertical
blinds tick many of the boxes that other blinds don’t.
Vertical blinds
are easy to fit, wide ranges of colours and patterns are
available, and individual slats can easily be cleaned and
cheaply replaced. Vertical
blinds minimise the obscuring of your view out, and
yet are effective at obscuring the view in. This is achieved
by the ability to precisely angle the blind slats. This
control of the slats means that you can allow just the right
amount of light in for your needs and the conditions.
