the roller part. Even with horizontal blinds, in many of
the older types the slats could be very difficult to remove
and replace. In the case of vertical blinds however, quite
apart from the fact that many materials used in the slats
are quite resistant to dirt, the each slat can be easily
and quickly removed from the main blind without a major
breach in the privacy of your home.
Many vertical blind
slats are washable and so can be easily and quickly
cleaned. If however there is damage or bad staining, ordering
replacement blind slats is a simple and inexpensive process
e.g. some websites offer blind slats at 99p each. The vertical
rather than horizontal nature of the slats makes the build
up of dust less likely and less extensive in the first place.
The
slats for vertical
blinds are often much thicker than those for horizontal
blinds, and
this can lead to less cleaning and maintenance anyway over
the life of the blind. A smaller number of larger slats
can allow even more light into the room than other blinds,
whilst making it as if not more difficult for people to
see in from the outside.
