When
it comes to window coverings for the office or workplace
most of us would find it unusual to see curtains. These
tend to be a much less practical and difficult to clean
option for the workplace. Blinds are now commonplace in
the workplace e.g. vertical
blinds and horizontal blinds.
Vertical
blinds can be particularly useful in office premises.
For example, many offices are physically tall buildings
with several floors, or are in a ‘detached’
position set back from any surrounding buildings. This means
that they can often receive a lot of light from all around.
This is beneficial in terms of allowing large amounts of
natural light into the workplace which is good for morale
and for keeping the lighting bills down. In sunny conditions
however, an exposed office position can lead to extra glare
and heat in the office which could make conditions uncomfortable.
Vertical blinds
have vertical slats which can easily and quickly be angled
in any position between completely open or completely closed.
This can allow the office to receive the maximum amount
of beneficial light whilst excluding any pollution from
heat and glare. Vertical
blinds are also effective at maintaining the privacy
need in the workplace, and can be easily cleaned and maintained.
The individual slats can easily and cheaply be replaced
if they are damaged.
