Consider how much overlap you want on
either side of the window and where you want the blind header
mechanism to sit above the window. If you have radiators below
the window sill try to avoid the blind touching or overlapping
and measure for your blind to sit between the sill and the
top of the radiator.
Measure the exact area you want the
vertical
blind to cover across the window from right to left and
add approx 6mm either side to ensure that the blind covers
the area you intended. Repeat this process for the vertical
measurement without the addition of the 12mm as for the horizontal
measurement. Remember to take into account whether there are
any obstructions below the window sill.
Be sure to double-check your measurements and note them down
so you don’t have to try to remember them when you come
to order the
vertical
blind.
Tip: If you are ordering
blinds
for windows that appear to be the same size always measure
each window as there may some variations in size.
