Modern Vertical Blinds for Modern Conservatories
and Patio Doors
The large expanses of glass in modern windows and conservatories
not only allow plenty of light into the home, but also produce
a view into the home from the outside. Vertical
blinds can be the perfect window coverings for these
situations for a number of reasons:
The angled slats of vertical
blinds provide a great way to prevent a clear view into
the home from outside.
The angled vertical
blind slats allow lots of light in through the gaps
between the slats. This is because vertical blind slats
are generally much wider than for example horizontal blind
slats. Also, vertical blind slats can be made from light
coloured fabric which is just thin and opaque enough to
allow a degree of light and ‘glow’ through the
slats themselves, but also to insulate from light when closed.
Made to measure
vertical blinds can be constructed to cover some fairly
large expanses of glass. This makes them very suitable for
the vertical windows in conservatories and patio doors.
The head rails for vertical
blinds take up little room in terms of height and simply
need an appropriate bracket to be fixed in position. This
means that they can easily be fitted above patio doors and
in conservatory areas.
Vertical blind
slats can be easily positioned to allow a good view
out but to protect from too much heat and glare in from
the sun. This means that they can be used effectively in
the summer and winter to help maintain comfortable conditions
in the conservatory and home, and allow you to enjoy the
sights of the garden and the changing seasons.
