Roller blinds
or roman blinds unfortunately don’t work particularly
well from this point of view. When they are open, there
is no other line of defence than perhaps some accompanying
net curtains, and when they are partially closed or fully
closed it’s not possible to get a good view out of
the home.
Vertical
blinds however provide a fantastic solution to the challenges
of achieving the right kind of privacy. Vertical
blinds let a great deal of light into the room, and
can be perfectly angled to avoid any unwanted glare and
heat while maintaining this high quality light source. The
vertical blind slats
can be relatively wide and are set back slightly from the
window itself. This gives them a huge advantage in adequately
obscuring the view into your home from the outside, even
if someone were to stand relatively close to the window.
What’s more, the angled slats allow a good, clear
view out, and mean that you don’t have to rely upon
net curtains to back things up. In the fully closed position,
vertical blind slats fit flush next to each other so that
they provide a very effective visual barrier into the room
that could keep any potential burglars or other home criminals
guessing, and hopefully make them think that it’s
not worth the risk of attempting to look into or enter your
home.
