Sewn
blind slats can often be better than glued slats
Vertical blind slats
in themselves are essentially long strips of fabric or a
similar lightweight material. In order to hang therefore
in a perfect way they need to weighted so they are subject
to gravity. This will prevent folding or curling. Also,
through simply daily use and because of their inherently
mobile nature, blind
slats will be subject to some degree of natural wear
and tear. Having slats that are sewn at the top and bottom
can be better than slats that are glued because they less
likely to break where the weight is housed and they are
more likely to stand up well to general wear and tear.
There
are different coloured head rails available
Although you may be aware of the fact that there are different
coloured curtain poles available you may not have considered
the head rail of blinds. In the case of some types of blinds
e.g. roller blinds, this isn’t really and issue. With
vertical blinds
however the head rail is visible inside the room. As such
it makes sense to have a colour choice. A good blind company
can therefore offer you for example a white or dark brown
head rail with your vertical blinds.
